SOS Children's Villages International is a global non-profit organization founded in 1949 by Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, an Austrian who witnessed the suffering of orphaned and abandoned children during the Second World War. The organization works to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children who have lost parental care and those at risk of losing it.
SOS Children's Villages Guinea-Bissau, through its professional training center program SANGUE NOVO II, CANCHUNGO, is recruiting five (5) people with immediate availability.

ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY
 Job Summary
  • The administrative secretary is responsible for the daily administrative tasks of managing the
  • Training Center.
  • He/she is responsible for updating the archiving systems for all correspondence and any other tasks that may be assigned.
Main missions
  • Send and receive mail, greet visitors and direct them accordingly, and receive calls.
  • Take care of logistics, office supplies and cleaning equipment.
  • Carry out specific tasks, for example sending leave and vacation requests to the human resources department at the request of teachers or administrative staff of the center.
  • Annually update the personnel database.
  • Daily management of all questions entrusted by the management of the center to ensure its proper functioning.
  • Purchase (from approved suppliers) and procure necessary supplies.
  • Monitor maintenance and repairs of the training center.
  • Submit detailed reports on the status of any aspect of the classroom facilities as requested by the manager.
  • Inform by email of any significant changes or events.
  • Write meeting minutes and reports.
Qualifications and skills required
  • High school or university diploma in secretarial/administration and relevant experience.
  • Be an excellent communicator in the field of human relations and have computer knowledge.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of SOS policies and principles.
  • Be able to write a detailed letter in precise Portuguese.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information.
  • Be punctual and willing to travel domestically and work weekends if necessary.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties from time to time.
  • Be qualified and have experience in management and administration, including accounting.
  • Experience in personnel management.
ACCOUNTANT :
Job Summary
  • Keep the project's financial books up to date and in order according to KDI's accounting procedures defined in KDI's financial manual.
  • Prepare monthly project expenditure reports under the direction of the Regional Accountant.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Supplementary Budgets for the Project when necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting and purchasing procedures.
  • He will be responsible for the bookkeeping of the Sangue Novo project and the FS project.
Qualifications and skills required:
  • University or high school degree in accounting
  • At least 3 years' experience as an accountant, preferably managing project accounts.
  • Ability to work in a team, good understanding of the SOS organization and its objectives.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with experience in dealing with banks and other suppliers of services and materials.
  • Good command of Portuguese. Proficiency in a foreign language (English or French) is an advantage.
  • Solid work planning, execution and accountability skills.
  • Ability to develop work tools and their applications, as well as to absorb/assimilate training actions.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office), particularly Excel.
  • High level of moral integrity: role model for employees.
CLEANING ASSISTANT
Job Summary
The cleaning assistant is responsible for cleaning the areas assigned by the supervisor. Providing cleaning services for the project management. Duties may include working in all types of rooms, including offices, corridors and bathrooms. Being responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the assigned areas.
  • Be vigilant around the complex throughout the day and report any unusual activities to the supervisor.
  • Assist and carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
  • Being responsible for cleaning certain parts of the management site, as assigned by the Site supervisor and following Health and Safety guidelines
Qualifications and skills required
  • At least three years' experience in the cleaning sector.
  • Have completed 12th grade.
  • Be communicative and easy to get along with.
  • Immediate availability.

 

A COOKING TRAINER
 Job Summary
The main role of the trainer contributes to the implementation of the established teaching and learning program, actively to its quality and to the improvement of the students' pedagogical and scientific skills.
Qualifications and skills required:
  • Take a cooking course
  • At least 2 years' work experience in the education and training sector
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good command of Portuguese
  • Knowledge of learning mechanisms and processes
  • Pedagogical knowledge and methods
  • Ability to plan training and use teaching tools
  • Ability to animate the group.
