The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking to recruit Teachers for posts in: PORTUGUESE, PHYSICS/MATHEMATICS, BIOLOGY/CHEMISTRY, HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY, ENGLISH, FRENCH, TECHNICAL DRAWING, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS, INFORMATICS, CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION, ADMINISTRATION, CIVIL CONSTRUCTION/ARCHITECTURE, PSYCHOLOGY, PUBLIC RELATIONS, LAW AND BIO STATISTICS/BIOCHEMISTRY/EPIDEMIOLOGY for the Lycée Polytechnique de Bissau.

 

Type of contract: fixed-term service contract

 

Job Summary

The main role Teacher contributes to the implementation of the established teaching and learning program, actively to its quality and to the improvement of the students' pedagogical and scientific skills.

 

Main tasks

  • Participates in individual or collective coordination and planning meetings with the head of department.v
  • Plans and teaches content according to the curriculum, guidelines and deadlines set by the educational manager, based on the defined calendar of activities.
  • Prepares all the pedagogical and didactic support material included in the lesson plan.
  • She manages the classes with the students according to the plans.
  • Self-evaluate your lesson planning according to the results of its application.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Higher academic and teaching qualifications in the subject for which you are applying.
  • Two (2) years of teaching experience in the area in which you are applying, in qualified schools, at least one (1) of which is an NGO or an International Development Project Organization.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese.
  • Mastery of pedagogical communication techniques.
  • Mastery in formulating teaching objectives and lesson plans.
  • Absolute honesty and integrity in the interests of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau.
  • Computer literacy (word, excel and powerpoint) would be an advantage.
