The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking to recruit a Consultant: School Psychologist for the SOS Secondary School in Bissau.

Job Summary
The school psychologist's main objective is to provide expert advice and support to facilitate learning and the building of skills and competencies at all levels of psychological development - psychomotor, cognitive, psychosocial and psycho-affective - both in and out of school. It also contributes to the implementation of the established teaching and learning program, actively contributing to its quality and to the improvement of students' pedagogical and scientific skills.
Main missions
- Promotes and participates in the organization, planning, development and evaluation of professional and vocational guidance and counselling processes, both in terms of informing, advising and guiding students regarding the choices they have to make in relation to different educational or professional possibilities, and in the development of methods to help them choose and learning methods to make professional decisions.
- Providing support and technical advice to teachers in terms of: adapting programming to the psycho-social and evolutionary characteristics of student learning, organizing the educational environment, teaching-learning methods, levels of curriculum specification, application of specific psycho-educational programs, etc.
- She collaborates in the ongoing training and didactic support of Psychology classes according to the guidelines and content previously distributed; providing specific preparation in the evolutionary, cognitive, affective, behavioral, psycho-social and institutional areas.
Qualifications and skills required
- Academic training in Psychopedagogy or Psychology;
- Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese;
- Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of the social and cultural reality of Guinea-Bissau;
- Knowledge of the educational reality in Guinea-Bissau;
- At least 2 years' experience in the field of psychology;
- Experience in technical and pedagogical learning methods.
