The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking to recruit an Assistant Educator Kindergarten in Bissau.
Type of contract: fixed-term service contract
Job Summary
Responsible for guiding and educating pre-school children according to the needs, abilities and interests of the child and in accordance with the principles, rules and regulations of the SOS Children's Village concept.
The assistant teacher is responsible for the care and well-being of all the children in her group during their time in the garden.
Main tasks
- Planning and drawing up work schemes and carrying out programs with a group of children, paying special attention to:
- Introducing the environment to children
- Stimulating children's interest according to their abilities
- Development of the child's personality as a whole
- Development of the child's personality as a whole
- Social behavior, manners, toilet training
- Children should be clean, tidy and neat.
- They should go to the toilet and wash their hands at intervals
- The cleanliness of classrooms, play areas, utility rooms and outdoor areas
- Maintenance of the equipment and furniture used by your group, including toys and materials
- The display of children's work in the classroom, filing it away to be taken home at the end of the term
- Reporting signs of health problems among children to the kindergarten director
- The daily recording and completion of work records and performance reports on the children
- Discussing all problems relating to your group with the Kindergarten Director

Qualifications and skills required
- Academic training and media pedagogy or higher in early childhood education
- Two (2) years of teaching experience in the field of Early Childhood Educator in qualified gardens of which at least one (1) NGO or International Development Project Organization.
- Experience in technical and pedagogical learning methods.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese.
- Absolute honesty and integrity in the interests of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau.
