SOS Children's Villages International is a global organization created in 1949 that works to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children who have lost parental care and those at risk of losing it. SOS Children's Villages International works through member associations in 135 countries around the world.

SOS Children's Villages Guinea-Bissau is a national non-governmental development association and a member of the International Federation of SOS Children's Villages, which since 1994 has been developing its activities to address the needs and concerns of children. SOS Guinea-Bissau develops and manages a wide range of programs and projects in Bissau, Gabú and Canchungo, including family strengthening programs, youth programs, primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, a vocational training center and various community projects.

 

The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking to recruit a trainee in the Human Resources department of the National Directorate.

 

Job Summary

The intern in the Human Resources department supports the coordination, communication and implementation of HR plans and policies. He or she supports the processes of recruitment, remuneration and benefits, performance management, team development and career development, as well as other activities in the HR domain.

 

Hierarchical relationships:

He/she reports directly to the Human Resources Department Manager.

Duration of internship:

3 months, renewable depending on performance.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Academic background: university degree or professional qualification in Psychology, Law, Human Resources, Administration or related areas.
  • Work experience: minimum 6 months, preferably in Human Resources or Labor Law
  • Languages: excellent written and spoken Portuguese. Excellent written and spoken French and/or English
  • Skills:
    • Professional and positive approach: willingness to learn, highly organized, commitment to deadlines, focus on results
    • Ability to work independently and motivate oneself
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office
