POSTED: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT FOR THE GABÚ PROGRAM

The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking to recruit a Assistant Accountant for the Gabú Program
Place of work: Gabú.
Job Summary
The accounting assistant will support the basic accounting tasks of the Gabú program.
Hierarchical relationships:
- Reports directly to the Local Finance Coordinator of the Gabú Program.
Main missions
- Keeping the bank journal up to date.
- Keep a well-justified accounting record for any operation (income or expenditure).
- Enter all financial transactions (income and expenses) for the period in Navision.
- Organize all accounting documents in order in the accounting schedule.
- Updating fixed asset records according to entries and exits.
- Taking part in the physical inventory of fixed assets at the end of each year.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Upload essential documents to the platform: credit notes for funds received by SOS, bank reconciliations, bank statements, cash reports.
- Monitoring the proper maintenance of the fuel control file kept by the secretary.
- Ensure that the cash register is properly maintained by the secretary.
- Take stock of the cash situation every weekend and fill in the cash report.
- Ensuring the level of execution of budget lines.
- Participate and support the Program team in drawing up the annual budget.
Qualifications and skills required
- Academic level: Hold at least a degree in accounting, finance and management or an equivalent degree.
- Experience: At least 2 years' proven experience as an accountant.
- Have a good knowledge of Portuguese and French or English.
- Have a good knowledge of computer tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet.
- Have a good character and a good professional conscience.
- Have initiative, availability, honesty, integrity and sincerity;
- Have a sense of teamwork.
- Being able to work under pressure.
- Being proficient in Dynamics Navision software would be an advantage.
- Have a good knowledge of Portuguese and French or English.
- Management skills.
