INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (TIC) ASSISTANT IN GABÚ

SOS Children's Villages International is a global organization created in 1949 that works to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children who have lost parental care and those at risk of losing it. SOS Children's Villages International works through member associations in 135 countries around the world.

The National Directorate of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea-Bissau is looking for one (1) professional with immediate availability to fill the vacancy in the above post:

JOB SUMMARY

The ICT Assistant is responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and services at SOS Gabu Children's Village.

MAIN TASKS

  • Install / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, configurations, directories, storage, etc. according to defined standards.
  • Carrying out daily monitoring of systems, checking the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and checking the completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Apply patches and operating system updates regularly and update administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as required.
  • Ensure that the backup and recovery system is operational in the Gabu Program and generate reports on it.
  • Regularly update the ICT inventory and network documentation in the Gabu Program, based on existing models and standards.
  • Maintenance of the local network and/or cabling at the level of the above-mentioned program.
  • Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance Program for the computers, peripherals and LAN in the Gabu Program.
  • Review and/or maintain the existing VPNs in the Gabu Program.
  • Reconfigure existing routers and firewalls as directed by the National ICT Coordinator.
  • Ensure that the internet is operational and optimized in the SOS Gabu Program
  • Any other assignment of the National ICT Coordinator

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school or college degree in Networking, Information Technology or related areas;
  • Knowledge of network security tools;
  • Knowledge of microcomputers, installation and maintenance of systems;
  • Knowledge of the applications and systems used in the company and Microsoft packages (Windows and office)
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of SOS policies and principles.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information
  • Be punctual, be prepared to travel within the country and to work weekends if necessary.
  • Must be flexible and willing to take on additional duties from time to time
  • Experience in personnel management.
